Claus Dieter Hoffmann, Managing Partner

In mid 2002 Claus D. Hoffmann founded H + H Senior Advisors and is since then Managing Partner. He is presently serving on the boards of a number of family owned companies. He is also the chairman of the Supervisory Board of a leading Bank and was chairman of the Supervisory Board of a major utility group in Germany until 2016.


Until mid 2002, Dr. Claus Dieter Hoffmann was a Member of the Board of Management of Robert Bosch GmbH and CFO. His main responsibilities were Corporate Finance and Controlling as well as Corporate Purchasing.

C.D. Hoffmann has been with Bosch since 1973. He became Executive Vice President Finance and Administration, Gasoline Injection Division in 1985, at which time he also took over responsibility for the Division's Far East Projects. Mid-1993 he became Senior Vice President Corporate Purchasing and Logistics. Mid-1996, C.D. Hoffmann was appointed as Associate Member of the Board of Management of Robert Bosch GmbH, Stuttgart. Effective July 1, 1998, C.D. Hoffmann was appointed Member of the Board of Management of Robert Bosch GmbH.

From mid-1978 till the end of 1984, C.D. Hoffmann was President of Robert Bosch (Japan) Ltd.

From 1973 till mid-1978, C.D. Hoffmann held a series of planning, finance, and administrative positions with Bosch, including that of Senior Executive in the Corporate Planning and Controlling Department.

Before coming to Bosch, C.D. Hoffmann was Assistant to the CFO of Deutsche Tafelglas AG.

C.D. Hoffmann studied business administration at the universities of Hamburg, Würzburg, and Erlangen/Nuremberg where he received his doctorate. In 1970, he had a research scholarship at M.I.T. Sloan School, Cambridge, Mass.

C.D. Hoffmann is the author of publications on management aspects of multinational corporations, and on the prospects of the Asian economies.
