Tilman Schad returned to Germany beginning of 2008 after 16 years in the US. From 1992 until 1996 he was general manager of the Software Business Unit of Hewlett-Packard which was the unit responsible for middleware and application software.
From 1996 until 2002 Dr.Schad was CEO of CoCreate Software GmbH, managing the spin-out from HP with a subsequent management buy-out. During this time CoCreate almost doubled its revenues.
As a part of his work as independent consultant, Dr. Schad also was interim CEO of Indicative Software Inc., a start-up company, where he organized the initial financing round with 6 M$ as well as the initial market entry with the first products.
Dr.Tilman Schad started his professional career in 1972 with an engineering services company. In 1974 he joined HP, where he worked as R&D engineer and project manager and then became production manager. He then initiated and led the development of the CAD software in Böblingen. From 1986 to 1988 he had an assignment in the state of Washington, USA, where he started the software business for Product Life Cycle management..
From1988 until 1992 he assumed more responsibility for software businesses in HP leading to the second move to the US in 1992.
Dr. Tilman Schad was born in 1944 in Stuttgart- Bad Cannstatt. He studied electrical engineering at the Technische Hochschule / University of Stuttgart, where he also worked at the Institut fuer Halbleitertechnik and finished with a Dr.-Ing. (PhD) degree in semiconductor physics.
